Empower Young Minds Through Photography
Designed for young people aged 11–18, the Junior Academy of Photography provides immersive, hands-on learning that builds creativity, confidence, and real technical skill.
More Than Just a Photography Course
Photography is far more than taking pictures — it’s a powerful tool for self-expression, problem-solving, and personal growth.
With years of experience teaching young people, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), I’ve developed a supportive teaching style that helps students:
Improve their photography skills from the very first session
Build confidence and motivation
Understand their camera and composition clearly
Express themselves creatively
Develop practical life skills through visual storytelling

Workshop Overview & Benefits

Teach essential photography skills using any camera (phone, compact, DSLR)
Explore composition, light, colour, and visual storytelling
Introduce simple post-production using Adobe Lightroom
Strengthen confidence and technical understanding
Provide a fun, supportive environment for self-expression
Workshops are flexible and can be delivered as 1:1 tuition, either in our home studio or directly in your child’s home to begin with before heading outside to practice photography.
Photography workshop for teenagers
Junior Photography Workshop (Ages 11–18) Private 1:1 or 2:1 Experience • 3.5 hours • Investment from £195
Give your child a creative, confidence-building experience that teaches real photography skills in a supportive, hands-on way. This 3.5-hour workshop goes far beyond a quick taster — it provides a full introduction to camera control, composition, and post-production, all tailored to your child’s learning style.
What’s Included
• On-Location Shooting
Your child will learn how to control their camera, compose stronger images, and photograph with intention in a real environment that matches their personality and interests.
• Post-Production Session
We finish by reviewing and editing their photographs together. This is where the biggest learning happens — analysing choices, understanding creative decisions, and building confidence through structured, positive feedback.
Students also learn:
How to manage their photos effectively
Basic storage and workflow
How to edit in Adobe Lightroom
(Photoshop is introduced when they’re ready)
• Highly Personalised Teaching
Every child learns differently, so each session is adapted to their pace, abilities, and interests. Whether they’re complete beginners or showing early talent, the workshop meets them exactly where they are.
Add a Friend or Sibling
Many parents choose to add a second child so two young creatives can learn together or like to join in themselves. Both students receive individual attention while enjoying a shared creative experience.
Parents are also welcome to join for a creative bonding session.
